This article will show you, as a card holder in ExpenseWatch, how to manually upload your credit card charges.
Step 1: Go to the Credit Cards tab.
Step 2: Click Manage Cards/Charges.
Step 3: Click Card Options.
Step 4: Click Upload from the drop-down menu.
Step 5: Locate the file to import. Browse for the file that will be imported. The following data file types can be imported; delimited text files (.csv, .txt, etc.), xls, and Access files (.mdb).
Please Note: We highly recommend using our upload template when uploading the charges. Click Download Credit Card Upload Template.
If you use text file, then you will need to choose the column separator.
- Standard Column Separators: Comma (.csv, typical), Tab(.txt), Space
- Other column separator: If a separator from above is not used, then enter another value.
Step 6: Once you select the file, choose the Negative Amount Imply. Select if negative amounts within the file apply to Debits or Credits. If Credits are chosen then the resulting amount is a negative number in ExpenseWatch. If Debits are chosen then the resulting amount is a positive number.
Step 7. Enter the row number.
- Number of rows to skip (starting from the first row): Enter the number of rows, starting with the first row in your file and including the column heading that should not be imported as data into ExpenseWatch.
- Row number that contains the names of the columns: Enter the row number of your column header.
Please Note: If you are using the Data Import Template, enter 13 and 13.
Step 8: Choose Worksheet to import (if an excel file is used). Click Continue.
Step 9: Follow the columns on screen to successfully map your data fields to the fields in ExpenseWatch. Start by clicking the field in Column 1 and then click the corresponding field in Column 2. Your result is displayed in Column 3. When all fields are mapped, click Continue.
Please Note: Any fields in ExpenseWatch identified with Required flag is always required on the import file. If an error was made while mapping the fields, click the Delete icon, -, to un-map the field. If the Data Import Template is used, then the fields can be auto-mapped by clicking the Auto Map.
Step 10: This is the final upload page. The utility will then validate the data in the import file against ExpenseWatch and determine if the import will be successful prior to import.
- View Rows: All results are displayed and then can be exported to excel or viewed.
- import These Rows: This will import all rows that are ready to import.
Any rows that are not ready for import can be exported to excel. This will allow you to review prior to importing.
Step 11: Click Import These Rows.
